Use the Defining Bullying Learning Activity to come to a shared understanding of what bullying looks and sounds like. Then invite families to extend the conversation with aligned table talk prompts.

Contract for mutual respect & inclusion

Facing History & Ourselves proposes a process of creating a contract for mutual respect and inclusion that invites you to define  what the agreement will include, help prompt student reflection, and facilitate development of your contract. Explore their learning activities and then extend the conversation at home with aligned table talk prompts.

Intentionally build a culture of inclusion

Build intentional inclusion with learning activities from Harvard University Graduate Schools of Education’s Making Caring Common Project. Their Humans of Your School strategy develops students’ capacity for empathy through building their understanding of their own and others’ histories, lived experiences, interests, and unique characteristics. Their Circle of Concern strategy helps students expand who they think about, care about, have empathy for, and want to offer kindness to.

Ensure every youth is known by at least one adult

Children need positive, stable relationships with caring adults in order to thrive. Harvard University Graduate Schools of Education’s Making Caring Common Project helps educators ensure each student is known by at least one adult through their Relationship Mapping Strategy. Educators work together to map their relationships to students, reflect, plan for action, and ensure connections are sustained.

Make sports more positive, equitable, and accessible

Positive Coaching Alliance trains coaches and partners with youth sports organizations, parents, sports leaders, and communities to make sports more positive, equitable, and accessible.
